May is Lyme Disease Awareness month. It is a terrible disease that turns lives upside down and can even kill you. Suicide is also a factor because some Lyme patients literally can't take it anymore. It is estimated that 300,000 to 500,000 Americans are infected each year. The numbers are probably much higher because so many people go misdiagnosed and undiagnosed for years. I was extremely ill for 7 years before I was finally diagnosed. I've been in treatment for over 2 years and I am still not free of Lyme and 2 co-infections. I may never be free of it. I implore you to be very careful. Educate yourself. Lyme Disease is in every state. It's a particularly devastating disease for children. I am a Lyme Warrior.
