Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Nashville TN
838 PM CDT Sun May 2 2021
.UPDATE...
FOR EVENING DISCUSSION.
&&
.DISCUSSION...
Updated suite of forecast products to emphasize rounds of initial
showers with embedded isolated thunderstorms as nighttime hours
progress. Tweaked hourly temperature, dewpoint, wind speed, wind
direction, and sky condition grids and blended them with
previously forecasted associated mid to late evening hourly
values. Current temperature trends generally in line with
forecasted lows. Remainder of forecast continues to be on track.

.AVIATION...
00Z TAF DISCUSSION.
VFR conditions expected to decrease to MVFR/IFR overnight with
scattered SHRA and VCTS after 04Z for CKV/BNA/MQY and not until
after 12Z for CSV. Confidence on timing to MVFR/IFR for CSV is not
all that high and conditions could decrease more rapidly
overnight. Conditions will improve for a period of time tomorrow
afternoon and evening after 18Z. CIGS will become VFR once again
and will remove SHRA and VCTS threat. Looking past the current TAF
period overnight Monday and into Tuesday additional showers and
thunderstorms could develop. A few of these storms have the
potential to become severe.
Models have been struggling a bit on timing and if there will
really be a break tomorrow afternoon and evening. Right now will
go with this scenario as the higher resolution models are
forecasting.
