The VF-114 Aardvarks made seven Vietnam War deployments, all of them on board USS Kitty Hawk (CVA 63). This F-4B was seen at NAS Miramar in summer 1966 while the squadron prepared for its second tour.

At one time the F4 was the fastest aircraft built! The J79 engine could pull a vacuum on the empire state building in 30 seconds! I used to enjoy watching them take off with after burners on.
