Let's get real. Short of actual genocide (which is never historically or geographically all that far away either)... Trafficking of human beings of all ages (but especially the young), and suppression/censorship of critically important information, are the two central evils of our time. Information suppression/censorship robs human beings of their capacity for moral agency. Human trafficking (iow, slavery) robs human beings of even their basic dignity as children of God.These two evils are being swept under the rug (while being massively enabled) in our country and our world as perhaps never before in history. Any church that does not make A LOT OF noise about these subjects, does not demand vigorous efforts to curb them, is not displaying true moral leadership.Any school or college not majorly enlisted in these efforts, is likewise derelict. Any publication, media platform or outlet, any mega-corporation, that is not all in... should be all out... of our support. And of course, any government that does not weigh in with clarity and conviction bolstered by effective action, is not fulfilling its most basic function.The forces that enable, even cultivate, these evils are better organized, resourced, and protected every day. And growing in numbers by the hour..And the hour grows late.
