Does God hate PEOPLE?
You probably have often heard that "God loves the sinner but hates the sin." It makes people feel good to hear that, doesn't it? However, I don't see this in the bible. Even in the most famous verse John 3:16, it says "For God so lovED the world, ..." Have you ever noticed the past tense of the word "lovED" in that verse? James 4:4 says that friendship with the world is enmity with God.
Let me give you a few verses that clearly state God hates at least some PEOPLE...
Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Note: That verse is self-explanatory. God hated Esau.
Psalms 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Note: It says that God hates the "workers" not the "works" if iniquity.
Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: ...A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Note: At least TWO of the six things God hates are PEOPLE.
Now I know many of you are much more spiritually advanced than myself and you will tell me things like "God loves everybody unconditionally." Ok, well I know many people who believe that way and they seem to lack a certain discernment about what is good and what is evil.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Ecclesiastes 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Would you sentence a couple to death for stealing fruit from a tree? Of course you would not, but God would and did.
Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Do you believe the words in God's book, or not? Shall you submit to them or try to keep criticizing God's book and make God fit into your comfort zone?
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God Almighty has extended His love toward you while you did not deserve it. Are you going to receive His love or will you continue in your iniquity?
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
