ARA THE ARGENTINA (11) ?? MEKO 360 H2 Class Dstructor Built at Blohm Shipyard + Voss AG in Hamburg, Germany. His keel was placed in March 1979 and was released on August 31, 1981. The MEKO-360 H2s are a series of 4 multi-purpose destroyers. They were designed and constructed according to a module system, which allows technological changes in weapons and systems, without affecting the ship's operation. This design is the origin of the MEKO designation, hence the name of MEKO-360; the number is due to the standard displacement of 3600 tons. Armament: * 8 = MM anti-ship missiles. 40 Exocet. * 8 = Selenia Aspide surface-to-air missiles, * 1 = OTO Melara Canyon 127/54. * 4 = double cannons Bofors 40/70. * 2 = 2 mm ILAS 3/324 mm torpedo launchers (Whitehead AS-244).
