"My bloody mask doesnt fit...!!!"
The ultimate experience for this IWM Director who was invited by the 48th FW Commander to enjoy a backseat trip low level with the mighty "Panthers"..the 494th FS based at RAF Lakenheath....!
Sadly he had been forced to remove his mask minutes after dropping into low level as he didnt feel too well!!
Not everyone is prepared for the rigours of low level and the sudden "G" forces that you experience flying at 500 feet and 500 kts......The "Speed Jeans"..."G-Pants" do help but they do surprise you if you dont know when they are going to inflate and crush your abdomen.
