23rd March marks the decommissioning of 899 in 2005.
The Squadron initially formed on 23rd March 1980 at RNAS Yeovilton from 700A Squadron which was the Sea Harrier Intensive Flying Trials Unit.
899 was the Sea Harrier Force Headquarters Squadron and their "Flying Fist" tail emblem became synonymous with the legendary aircraft.
