Ever wake up to your digital clock flashing and get into a panic because you don't know what time of day it is ? Welcome to the main reason why so many elderly people die due to the time change every year ! Yes, THIS is the post I WAS going to put up months back that got interrupted by politics. I ALMOST did it this morning, again, but life's infinitely more important than politics. Or, it SHOULD be ! Many years ago, a LOT of us learned about biorhythms, and plotted ours and made our minds up. Being a Type "A" personality, I figured I'd just stay in the traces and pull my load without excuses or rationalizations. Now, in retrospect, with my mind wandering more and indexing getting harder to keep, maybe I SHOULD have paid more attention. Maybe our minds and bodies were warrantied for so much effort/so many miles before the degradation started. Then, the L-B' s start packing on in spite of how much we move around and we start questioning the cause of it all. So, we must delve into research to discover some untold truth they're hiding from us, again. It CAN'T just be that sugar hankerin' we get daily ! A very interesting thing popped up during my research that wasn't in my path at first, but sure is now ! Do a search on "circadian rhythm" and start with the Wiki article. With that CRITICAL information, you begin to understand WHY we're all different, and our "clocks" are set to certain times. Mandating uniformity by all creates major turmoil, as demonstrated by animals in these studies. One of the side effects of forced compliance is obesity, and everything else it brings like insulin resistance, sleep depravity, and heart conditions. For those of us who are retired, it SHOULDN'T be a problem, but living in a world that FORGETS we're retired sure is. Waking up at our age is like having to warm up the old cars before they'd run right, but today's society never drove an old car so they don't understand the travails. Schedules? YOU'RE retired, they aren't, so they'll be happy to automatically assume you have PLENTY of time on your hands. Don't believe me? How many can relate to telemarketers waking you up, friends calling during their lunch break, and the instant knowledge of time when they all get off work ? Just when you get it all settled in, the time change hits. As we get older, flexibility wanes. Doubt me? Just get on the floor without a plan to get back up. Smile at the next snowflake who calls you "boomer" and just walk away. This time change hits a lot of people harder than they even recognize. Ramifications are documented throughout society. Since it's coming THIS SUNDAY, start today by compensating ten minutes per day until it hits. Eat earlier. Look at the clock frequently and ADD an hour. Start conditioning yourself so your body won't be shocked AS BAD as it's going to be. Since this time change has been around for a VERY long time, there's a LOT of documentation about this. Alas, though, most won't do the research, and even more didn't even read THIS far because they figure they've got it figured out. Not even longer life's going to supersede lethargy. Know this though, there's a REASON for statistics, and some READ obituaries ABOUT those who don't/won't help themselves. It's obviously your choice, but the proverbial ounce of prevention is indeed worth a pound of cure here. It's only mental conditioning to save your life, not fear of dying from the virus that's being portrayed on the tube with the boob in front of it. Ten minutes a day for the next six days. See you on the OTHER side, or READ about you! It's up to you !
