Admin Jean today...I am tired and am betting that you are as well! Those of us born in the fifties have lived through assassinations, wars, peace movements, and societal changes. Alot has happened in our lifetimes, some good, some bad. The thing is, every generation must experience change! The change comes from creativity derived from differences during discussions! If everyone is forced to follow a single mantra society will stagnate. That leads to "my" rabbit hole. The "woke" culture, hate speech, and censorship. What I consider to be hate speech may very well be different than what a 22 year old considers it to be. What should happen is a free discussion of the topic, but that doesn't appear to be what is occurring. In the past, parents, schools, courts, etc. put up guardrails. Today, it appears that those of my generation who lived through difficult times have raised a cushioned, pampered group who believe that they must "protect" all others from any possible hurt. It won't work folks. I won't sit down and shut up! I will say what I believe, I will discuss other viewpoints, I will research and I will DECIDE FOR MYSELF what I believe! To paraphrase Kirk on the original Star Trek, without choice there is no creativity. Creativity is necessary for life. The current cancel culture and censorship are tools of the oppressors and ultimately leads to a lack of creativity. It stifles society and stops growth.
