Clapper Rails live rarely seen in the marsh grass year round. Relatively short lived for a wading bird, 2 to 4 years, they will brood multiple times during the spring and summer. This is the most common view of a Clapper Rail with chicks as they walk out of range. And finally, a young straggler strikes a pose.
