One of our wethers, Mr Airgead, evidently got stepped on by a cow today. Said cow was kind enough to break off his toe nail right back to the quick. He has a pretty good limp and is bleeding. So, out came the antiseptic, dressings, bandages, antibiotics, and anti-inflamatory meds. Got him all cleaned up, wrapped up with a lovely green bandage, and meds on board. We will unwrap and clean it again on Wednesday morning just to make sure he doesnt end up with an infection cooking under that bandage. Second dose of antibiotics on Thursday, and the banamine daily. I suspect he will be happy to stay in the corral tomorrow with hay in easy reach and no need to travel to it.
