It is better to obey then to sacrifice. The flesh has always cried out to disobey. It cost Adam and Eve everything.
1 john 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Samson was set apart for special service to God (Judges 13:5), He ignored his vow to God and gave over to his fleshly lust. It was his weakness for the wrong woman that did him in. He laid his head in her lap and forgot all about his commitment to God. His passion for this woman was more important to him than God.
His flesh was screaming for more and more until he no longer could hear God. She was a Philistine and he was forbidden to be with her. He chose his flesh over his God. It cost him everything....it would be something he would regret for the rest of his life......Samson would become a slave to his enemies and a mockery and reproach to his people and his God.
