An into too myself, and to A???? (Agape) Christowiccan and what it is essentially. First, myself. I'm Jessica (though if you'll indulge me, I eventually wish to legally change my name to Alaina and would prefer to be referred to as such). I'm a (soon to be) 30 year old woman, a homemaker, a mother of two, an author, and an artist at heart (though dormant). I've been Christian my whole life, Wiccan for half of my life. I'm ordained by ULC, and I'm an assistant teacher for my nondenominational homechurch's children's church. My pastor is helping me to learn more in Christian duties as a minister, and helping me to learn Koine Greek. I grew up with different families, and they had different beliefs. By the age of 7 I had started to combine being Christian and Wiccan, but fought for years and fought people defending my beliefs on both sides, losing myself in the fight without much thought into what I was fighting for for over a decade in the process. I looked into Trinitarian Wiccan, but it didn't match what I was. I did not agree with never looking into the Bible because if one believed in Jesus's teachings (and therefore his words), he says to look to the Bible. I understand they did not wish to because their belief is that it condones a patriarchal life. This is not accurate as the patriarchal society was man made, Jesus treated women as equal to men or he wouldn't have gone to them and treated them like equals. And so, A???? (Agape) Christowiccan was born. In short, this is what it means. ????? = love. Christo = of Christian. Wiccan = of Wiccan belief and practices. We follow God and Goddess, whether we perceive them to be two sides of one entity, or consorts and partners. For me it is a Trinity, it is Father, Mother, and Son (the holy spirit). I also see God of the Sky, Goddess of Earth, Jesus/Christ/Yeshua/God of the sun, Goddess of the moon. We are not discouraged to believe in or work with the existence of others, but to worship is them is discouraged. (I personally also work with help from Artemis, Odin, Freya, Frey, Diana, Isis and Bastet). We follow the two greatest Commandments Jesus had taught in Matthew 22:37-40, which he describes as the two greatest commandments which is held above all old law (the 613 > 10 commandments of the old testament). Which means these two are more important than, and is an umbrella for the old law. (So no, stoning people is not in our recommended behavior. Women don't have to be separated during their period from others. We can eat shellfish.) These laws make our lives simple but not necessarily easy as we all face obstacles that make these two hard to practice. 1. Love God. 2. Love others. It is the word 'love' of which the Greek word "A???? (Agape)" that I used, for the name of the belief. The context of this specific term of the word, love, is the unconditional love that God has for us. The welcoming arms we give to the hungry, the weak, the voiceless, the angry, the sad, the joyous, the ill, the wound, the poor, the helpful, the wise, the ignorant. And so these laws mean, no matter what, love God and our neighbors unconditionally, wholly. The Wiccan side of law is simply the rede, which, given the commandments, it fits hand in hand. An harm none, do what thou wilt. We wouldn't attempt to harm those we love, yes? One other verse that captures my heart and the essence of the laws, is this: In all things do in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 This also includes speaking in love, acting in love, practicing and walking in love. We can celebrate both the Wiccan Sabbats and their Christian versions as well, seeing as Christian ones came from the Wiccan or Pagan ones. Because of the law to love, we are free also to love. ?????. There is no judgements in same sex love. God made us this way, and if he is omnipotent then he cannot err so it is not a mistake we are what we are. Jesus never taught against same sex love, and the two commandments do not contradict same sex love. Magick. Magick is spells is simply seen as prayers with props. Through the holy spirit, God and the Goddess we are blessed with abilities should we choose to use them. They are our way of influencing our or others' lives for the better. Due to the laws, we might only do positive, light, healing, protection, work that must not go against free will. Some even look to psalms for such work. Wiccans also believe in karma, the rule of three. Whatever action taken by you, returns to you by three. I guess that's all for now. Blessed Be and Amen ??????????? ?? ????? ??? ????.
