Im pretty sure they are expensive but when I look at the cost of freeze dried food as well as how well it retains its nutrients I am considering taking the plunge...I really dont like pressure canning and need an alternative to refrigeration
So what are you stocking up on and how are you doing it?
I stock up on food with long shelf life. Dried food for instance. Canned foods and food that has been in the canning process has long shelf life but if you have to relocate, then you have to worry about carrying all those heavy items.

Pemmican is another healthy food you can make. It has a shelf life of up to 6 years.
I bought icing buckets and wanted to use them to store food but my friend says they are not good to use. Someone at a bakery told her. I washed them out well.
