Even if ONE of the 3 groups votes to convict they will claim Trump was guilty of whatever charge that group agreed upon. This is why Merchan has also provided three options upon which the groups may choose to make Trump a felon. It’s to ensure at least one group votes to convict. Doubtless 1 juror amongst the 12 would have voted against conviction, thus rendering Trump not guilty. Now 3 jurors must vote against to ensure no group convicts. It’s absolutely devious.
