I called in and requested support. After further testing it was determined the cell was indeed faulty. So I sent the cell back and the wait began. I did notice however how the cells were all bloated. When you receive the cell pack they are all nicely strapped and compressed. Anyway, I received the battery cell replacement that next friday and of course it came in the evening hours. I quickly tested them out and the issue still was not resolved. Who can believe that 2 cells in a row would be faulty. I tested this out multi times through the weekend, shifting the newly replaced cell to a different position in the pack and even different BMS and the charger would not charge and that particular cell, no matter where it was in the chain of cells would race a tell the bms to stop charging that it was full when the other cells were no where close. Still hard to believe when they say the cells are tested 3 times to be to spec. Maybey they do but then fail to test when they have the singular cells as a 12volt pack. Anyway, my impression is quite mote since they stated they would not be selling or holding them any longer. Though after they sent the third one, which they said that would be last one sent it was too expensive to send. I did ask, isnt this under warranty and I sure didn't want to receive something not working as promised in your web site. In fact it is hard to test to see I can only guarantee that they go to 135 ah -- not the 150 because their bms cuts off at 90% charge. I also learned they were getting frustrated by this community as well as others and their questions they would come to them with. Its hard to imagine that this being one of the more expensive components of the project that people would not have questions. Leaves me with questions of their credibility for sure. As like I said they did offer to refund but that would leave me with one supposed 150 ah, tested at 138 ah battery and nothing to parallel it to. I didn't want my money but a working product I purchased.
Anyway, long story short I found another company and am testing them now. Its the 18650batterystore adn overkill solar bms. Here you will see the outcome and definately impressed with thier products. I will leave a link to both down below and hope you will visit. I was not promised anything from them but I do promise you if I find good products and reputable here in the state side I will share.
As soon as the battery box comes in and the terminals ect we will be using this bms and cells to build a small battery pack self contained looking like a regular packaged battery for teaching/training purposes.

View MoreIt's been awhile but alas the battery cells arrived today and hopefully the BMS will arrive tomorrow. The cells show a bit of swelling, nothing drastic but obvious and they cam in charged quite low which is to be expected for safety and shipping rules. Here we took a few pictures preparing the cells with the heating pads and heat shield and waiting for the bms to arrive. We charged the initial battery pack to full and now resting, when bms is installed it will then charge for about 7-8 hours -- like I said they are quite low, and then before we place into the case and the parallel them together then charge again, we will let it rest for the rest of the evening. The BMS is arriving usps and we have a new delivery driver which means late arrival each day. Looking forward, after installed we will then install the inverter and we will then be testing everything out. We are making this also in a full video but sharing this for a sneak preview...

The case we decided with, for its height and room was the Dewalt tough chest 38in 63 Gal. Mobile tool chest. So far the container has proven to be ample for this project. As cutting is hard, this box is made out of Polypropylene but definitely sturdy it also posed a situation that found trying to adhere anything to it just did not want to stick. I tried numerous different products even those that claim to work. Ha, even tried flex glue the first time and it just peeled off easily after it was cured. However, I finally tried one last product and it seems to be promising. It's holding and even when cured doesn't budge.
Amazing stuff but a bit pricey, however it works and that is a game changer. After using it inside and our of the component I wanted adhered to the case inside and out I retried Fles Glue and it seems to be adhering as well for a small back stop to help keep it stationary.
First, we used a cotton swab and dipped it into the primer and soaked the area we wanted to stick to the case and the other side as well. It dries very quickly and after a minute or so we were ready to add the glue which was a bit thicker than the others, not by much but the velocity was definitely thicker and applied sparingly on The one side and pressed really hard for 30 seconds. It stayed, but not really to test yet so I beaded a small bead if glue on the inside opposite from where I adhered to. It is definitely not thick enough to build upon but seemed to work. So, just to test this out -- it seems to work nicely so far I decided to administer a small bead of the flex glue on the inside. It held nicely.
After 24 hours it all seems to be doing a fine job. I don't think I would try banging it out of the case with a hammer but it is stationary with some push to it.
Since so many containers are made out of Polypropylene you may find this handy information.
The Primer is quite hard to find in stock, the only place I found was an online vendor named Digikey

As we wrote each post we briefly talked about safety issues and the inherited risk of injury or accidents working with electricity and its components. Here we will be a bit more specific and engaged on safety handling.
When working with electrical components there are a few rules that you should always take into account.
1) wear safety glasses. Believe it or not a simple spark can expel tiny bits of metal and these could get into your eyes.
2) Always take any rings or jewelry you wear on your hands.
3) do not wear dangling necklaces make of metal that can easily, accidentally cause a short.
4) Always know where a ABC Fire extinguisher is and keep it close by.
5) Always disconnect the battery before working on live components. Our projects, if followed all have a master on/off switch make sure it is off. It is also best to disconnect one of the battery terminals and make sure you isolate the loose terminal end by wrapping in plastic ect so it will not short out. The second is a must do if no master switch is in existence.
6) if you did not add a master switch to turn off the power and you are adding or exchanging a inverter connect one to the battery and take the other and place inline a ceramic resister and hold it to the battery for a minute or two. These inverters usually have large capacitors that if not pre-charged will cause a spark. Most of the time no harm will occur to the inverter or battery but it could damage it. It really will make you jump however, and as like we said if not wearing safety glasses it could thrust small pieces of metal into your eyes.
7) When using metal tools, such as screw drivers make sure you insulate the majority of the metal before you start using it inside the component and wire area. Take some electrical tape and wrap the stem of the screw driver, for example to insulate it from shorting out. All it will take is a small error, a slip of the screwdriver blade to have an accidental shorting of a connection. Once again, best scenario is to disconnect the power before working on the project.
😎 in our projects we have always tried to be sure to use color coding of our wire. Black for negative and red for positive. Pay attention if using a volt or amp meter that you do not cause a short. Always touch the red probe to a red wire or connection as well as the black probe to the negative connection.
9) Depending on battery chemistry, always work in a dry cool place. If using a lead acid battery do not dump it upside down because the acid and chemicals inside could spill out and cause skin burns or hurt your eyes if not wearing safety glasses.
10) If you remember several years ago when lithium batteries were exploding -- sometimes for no apparent reason. If a fire does happen or you see smoke move away quickly and be prepared with a fire extinguisher. Do not go back to it until you are absolutely sure that it is extinguished.
11) If using a drill always make sure the chuck is tightened adequately. Never put your fingers into the wire strippers or wire cutters, they are sharp and could cause injury. If using wire strippers always wear safety glasses as well since the tiny piece of insulation could or will go flying and usually it contains tiny fragments of loose cut wire.
I have no doubt that I will be adding more to this list as time goes by
