I've been saying farewell to a bunch of neighbors who took advantage of the seller's market. But I've also been saying howdy to the new people moving in. There's quite a lot of turmoil, it seems to me, with people trying to find a safe place to live. But safe is wherever God wants you to be. One neighbor is moving to Texas. Another is moving to Dutchess County. Then there's the guy who sold his house in Dutchess who then moved here. My good friend and her husband just bought a house in Florida. I have abandonment issues, so I'm sad about all this. I'm also suspicious of all this moving. It's like people are trying to move away from themselves. But then when they get to the new place they find they had to take their anxiety with them. It's not like this is the Irish Potato Famine or the pogroms in Russia or the Civil war that's happening everywhere. Is it? Then there's all the people, including me, moving from Facebook and Twitter and trying to find a place in Parler, MeWe, Wimkin, and USA.Life. So in a way, I'm packing up and planning my online move, too. T'is the season of upheaval. Reminds me of what happened when the British left India. And so it goes.
