The events that have unfolded in Afghanistan have left me angered and saddened.
As a U.S. Marine Veteran, I am eternally proud of the brave men and women willing to go into harm’s way so that others may be free. These 13 service members deserved better.
As an American, I am heartbroken to see 13 flag-draped coffins and to know we’ve added to our long list of Gold Star families who will never be the same. These 13 families deserved better.
As a former Arabic Linguist, I know that this reagon of the world is complicated and tough for the average person to truly comprehend. We’venlost a lot of brothers and sisters there to bring safety and stability to oeople who have never known freedom. These people deserved better.
As a human, I am disgusted to see our weaponry in the hands of evil. Many throughout the world will benthreatened and terroized through these weapons - and we will regret this for many years. The world deserved better.
Heavy is the weight of freedom. Bless all who carry it.
We must demand answers and acciuntability for the mess that has unfolded in the kast twi weeks. Without that, far too many service members (and families) are left to wonder what all the loss and sacrafice was for over the last 20 years. THEY DESERVE BETTER.
I owe a debt of gratitude to thise who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. My prayers to those still serving.
