Started life in the dead of winter in East Tennessee in 1936. Times were hard then. But the family was our solice. Had a normal childhood, graduated from HS, and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life... quickly decided that the life of a soldier appealed to my lifestyle. The best years of my Army career were as a sergeant in the 11th Airborne Division in Munich Germany in 1955/57. Spent 7 and one-half years as an enlisted soldier rising in rank from private to staff sergeant then decided I wanted to be an officer. OCS (Officer Candidate School) was the next stop, graduated a 2nd Lt. of Infantry then Ranger School. Served in Vietnam as a Team Leader of a special 5 man team advising the Vietnamese Infantry. Not a real safe place to be. Served 2 tours in Germany. My last post prior to retirement was the Commanding Officer of the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Foret Leavenworth KS. I love the adventure the Army provides me, the opportunity to see the world, and the education it provided .... I am 100% a PATRIOT wHO LOVES HIS COUNTRY, FAMILY, AND GOD. This site gives me the opportunity to express my thoughts in writing. I ENCOURAGE ALL PATRIOTS TO DO THE SAME !!!
