It would have been way cheaper to go to Walmart but it was... View MoreYesterday I skipped Walmart and went to a family owned supermarket in town. I didn't wear a mask. In fact no one wore a mask except one lady.
It would have been way cheaper to go to Walmart but it was worth it. People were friendly once again, smiled and made eye contact and spoke to one another. Five miles into my drive home I realized I was still smiling.
Last week I had an appointment to get my eyes checked. They said I didn't need to wear a mask if I didn't want to. I said "I don't see how wearing one can make the least bit of difference". They said "we don't either. We just wear them so others won't feel uncomfortable".
I'm 65 years old and in the "high risk group". More than several weeks ago we stopped wearing masks to church. People are shaking hands and hugging and we're not dropping like flies.
We're not taking it any more. And if the fake President in the White House mandates masks and social distancing, well then, all the more reason not to comply.
This is America.
