About My Guest:

Award winning filmmaker Mikki Willis is respected internationally as an innovator of socially and environmentally conscious media. His passion for uniting creatives inspired the birth of Elevate Film Festival in 2006. In less than three years the festival earned the title of "the world's largest single screen film event," hosting up to six thousand people per screening, filling prestigious arenas such as, The Kodak Theater, The Pasadena Civic, and The Nokia L.A. Live. The festival served as a beacon to unite a global community of visionaries who realize the power of art and media to activate change. Mikki Willis has produced and/or directed network television specials, theatrical features, commercials, viral media, and music videos for multi-platinum artists. He lives to the fullest with his wife Nadia, and their sons Azai and Zuriel.



9-11, 2001 marked a turning point in Mikki’s life and career. After witnessing the collapse of the twin towers from a neighboring high-rise, he helped to organize a team of civilians who remained in the danger zone for 3 days while searching for survivors. It was atop the rubble of the World Trade Center where Mikki's life’s mission was defined. Since then, he has led missions to bring clean water to third-world countries, build homes for the homeless, create schools in Africa, deliver musical equipment to children in war torn territories, support eco-green initiatives, and mentor young filmmakers. Mikki Willis received the 2008 Conscious Life Humanitarian Award and is an active member of the Transformational Leadership Council.
