Sunset can occur anywhere from around 6 PM until around 9 PM, depending on what time of year it is. Saying that it begins at 6 Pm Friday to 6 Pm Saturday will only cause more confusion and is Biblically incorrect. Now, when it says that they came to the tomb, it says specifically AT THE END OF THE SABBATH DAY, as it began to DRAW towards the first day of the week, which would have been at the END of the Sabbath day, and at the beginning of the first day of the week, at SUNSET on Saturday. It also says that they came WHILE IT WAS YET DARK, so that reaffirms that it was DARK, and not "early in the morning" (SUNRISE) on the first day of week! It's also worthy to note that Yeshua was ALREADY GONE! He did not "rise" on Sunday, but rather AT THE END OF THE SABBATH! To further understand this concept we see that, when Paul was expounding the Scriptures on the first day of the week, this was also AFTER the observance of the Sabbath on SATURDAY. In the Hebrew tradition they would come together after the observance of the Sabbath, at SUNSET on Saturday, to observe the "havdalah" which was a meal which bid goodbye to the Sabbath. It was after this that Paul expounded the scriptures to them UNTIL MIDNIGHT! It would be ridiculous to think that Paul expounded the scriptures from Sunday morning, and then rambled on until MIDNIGHT! That would be about 12 hours of speaking. Sunset on the Sabbath occurred, which means it was LATE SATURDAY EVENING, and then they came together, and THEN Paul expounded the scriptures to them, and "spoke until MIDNIGHT" on the FIRST DAY of the week"! One of the difficulties for us is in understanding that the Hebrew Calendar is a LUNAR calendar, and on that calendar the days last from Sunset to Sunset, and that is how the days are counted. It is also noteworthy that the Hebrew Calendar only has NUMBERS to represent days of the week, one, two, three, four...etc...that is except for the SABBATH! The SABBATH is the ONLY day of the week with a NAME! We, in Western culture, observe the Gregorian Calendar, on which days begin at MIDNIGHT, and last until MIDNIGHT! That difference makes it difficult for many to grasp that the Hebrew days are different in their beginning and ending. So how did we get to "Sunday Worship"? The observance of SUNDAY day as "the Lord's Day", and the day of Worship, really had NOTHING to do with Christ, or any admonition from him, or even the early church, but rather the Catholic Church OPENLY admits that THEY are responsible for the change of the day of worship from the "True" Sabbath, being Sunset Friday to Sunset Saturday, to "Sunday", which for the Romans was already their day of worship, as the "Venerable Day of the SUN", because they were PAGAN Sun Worshipers, which they then merely changed to the "Day of the Son", but retained their PAGAN traditions of "Sun Worship", and merely attached "Christ" to them! These are all well documented FACTS! As reference, I recommend reading the book "From Sabbath to Sunday" by Samuel Bacchiochi, and there are many other references besides that to corroborate that the Catholic Church was indeed responsible for the change from God's TRUE Sabbath to what today's so called "Christian Churches" observe, that being the PAGAN VENERABLE DAY OF THE SUN!
