There have been some horrific atrocities done to people just in the name of socialism/communism as well as for someone's God. When I say "atrocities" I mean death wasn't good enough. They had to brutally torture people to death in public for only one reason, to terrify the populace into compliance. The Prophet Muhammad actually explained this in detail and later it got him success from terror. Mao in China killed millions upon millions to terrify the population enough that they helped the government purge those deemed from the old regime. Vladimir Lenin's response to the question of "What shall we do with the elite class people we've detained?" Lenin said "Shoot them!" And in the interview he laughed as he said, "AND THEY DID!" His successor, Joseph Stalin murdered even more than Lenin to make sure all remained loyal to the Bolsheviks. The communist that took over Laos and Cambodia took Mao's policies from the Chinese revolution to kill anyone with an education as well as doctors and nurses. They planned to doing like China, starting over again new with their new socialist society. The slaughter was so horrific that Vietnam, a Bolshevik aligned country, invaded these countries and cleaned out the radical communist that were butchering the citizens.
