5. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.1 John 3:5. John speaks clearly: if we are redeemed by Christ, His righteousness will show in how we live. But if we continue to live a life of sin with no change of heart or behavior, we are just kidding ourselves. Where there is no change, there is no redemption. Redemption is at the cost of Christ's blood, and for me, it was not instantaneous. I fought secret sins and addictions. It was when I trusted Christ to remove the things which did not honor Him and replace my heart with one that would honor and obey Him. That is when things happened: sin and addictions faded into the past. Sin no longer ruled in my life. The grace that does not change your life will not save your soul. Christ came to destroy the works of Satan. Not to neutralize, not to alleviate, not to limit them, but to utterly destroy them. As we walk in step with Christ, we will witness Christ's destruction of Satan's work in our daily lives. Amen.
