"HUMAN FRIGHT AND HEAVEN'S FIGHT" "Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." (Exodus 14:12-14)Just listen to those bunch of complainers. They're as wishy-washy as they come. One minute they're worshipping God for His faithfulness, and the next minute they're whining about their fears. And on and on it went for some 40 years. Before them was the Presence of God in the form of a cloud. They saw the angel of God. They had seen the plagues in Egypt. But here, in what looked like impossible circumstances, mountains on two sides, a roaring sea in front, and a blood thirsty army behind, they forgot all that God had done for them in the past and even what He was doing at that very moment. How like us! Fear blinds us to the Power and Presence of God, doesn't it? No wonder we often encounter those words, "Fear not" in the Scriptures. Our condition is no different than theirs. God will take us to the same seemingly impossible places so that we may learn that all we need do is "Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD." Has not our LORD delivered you and I time and time again in the past? Of course He has! Then what makes us thing He will not deliver us from now on? He's just too faithful to give up on us from here on out. Yes, our Saviour will fight for us. It is God's will to deliver us from the world and from trusting in ourselves, so that we can follow Him to the Promised Land of abundant living. He will fight for you and me if we will allow Him. Now, what would have happened if the Children of Israel had decided to attack that well-trained and battle-tested army of Pharaoh while trusting in their own might? I'll tell you exactly what would have happened. They would have been thrashed to pieces by those godless goons. But God always has a better plan. His plan builds our faith and banishes our fears and shows the enemy that the LORD is God.Friends, let's make, "Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord" our battle cry. Oh, what peace is yours when the LORD shall fight for you!
