Growing Old And In RighteousnessProverbs 16:31“The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.”Proverbs 20:29“The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.”What are the signs of old age? We could have lots of fun answering that question! 🤩 😂 One sign, and the Bible clearly points this out, is the hoary or gray head. I can check that one off! But spiritually speaking, it is a beauty and a blessing when the one who adorns the naturally gray head also walks in the way of righteousness.To walk in righteousness is to walk in right-ness. Right that is according to Bible principle is righteousness. Righteousness is not just knowing Bible truth it is living out Bible truth. The senior Christian ought to be growing in righteousness. He or she, should easily “flee youthful lusts” and “follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace” (2 Timothy 2:22).Christian, if you are old or growing old, let your age be a motivation for you to walk in righteousness. Do not mope around in a depressive state, worrying about what your body will not let you do! Live for God! Mentor the next generation by walking before them in righteousness. The young people in your life are watching you. Grow old, and let your hair turn gray with lots of grace!
