The turbulent, flowing forms of Altocumulus asperitas clouds appear here in the foreground, with building turrets of Stratocumulus off in the distance. They were spotted over the bluffs of the Rock River near Dixon, Illinois, US by Renae Rebechini (Cloud Appreciation Society Member 47,078), who added her own classification which is equally, if not more, valid: ‘Beautiful layers of storm swoopiness. Moving very fast. Changing very quickly.’
