Don’t Miss Your Chance! Sometimes at this time of the year it seems that the words ought to be singing to his well-known Christmas song should be- “It’s the most busiest time of the year…” We are ten days away from Christmas and too many people are like Martha instead of Mary. I’m thinking about one of the times when Jesus visited the house of Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. Martha was cumbered about with her much serving and was anxious and troubled about many things. One being that her sister Mary was not helping her. In no uncertain terms, she let Jesus know about it, even asking Him to bid her to help!! Luke 10:41-42 “And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Have any of you been anxious and agitated about all you need to do in the next few days? Among all the things that Martha was doing and what Mary could have been doing, Jesus said, “But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part…” Mary did not miss her opportunity to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn and worship! Christmas ought to be a time of the year in which we slow down long enough to worship Christ. It is a great time of the year for which we should take time away from the hustle and bustle and worship He who has made these moments possible. Today is Sunday and Sunday is a day in which the church celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a day of rest and worship! I challenge you, beginning today, to take multiple times between today and Christmas Day to stop and worship Christ! What a tragedy it would be to pass through this most wonderful time of the year and miss your chance to sit at His feet.
