My morning comment on an observation and some research done as a result. If you’ve seen any pictures aka “Graven images” in (Exodus 20:4) of “Jesus” you’ve likely marveled at his long flowing locks of hair. For many of us, to picture Jesus is to picture someone who looks like Kenny Loggins or Johnny Damon. But in reality Jesus probably had shorter hair. As did men then look at any statue of men at that time. The Jewish men who had longer hair were Nazirites, not Nazarenes. He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him, Isaiah 53 . Surely this part of the description fits Jesus as it does no other. The entire absence of outward show, or of all that pleases the spoiled tastes of sinful men. We are but poor judges of true ‘form or comeliness,’ and what is lustrous with perfect beauty in God’s eyes may be. This is How John described him in Revelation 1:14 KJV: His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire..
