The life that we have been called to live in Christ is the transcendent life. It's far removed from failure and defeat because we're joint heirs with Christ. Why then should any Christian suffer defeat and pain, when he's a joint-heir with Christ? God made us one with Christ 1 Corinthians 6:17 says "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit."
