Newport Beach Mayor Will O'Neill expressed anger at California's legislature for shielding illegal immigrants from deportation while ignoring the financial and public safety implications. Gov Gavin Newsom responded: "We had a bipartisan border security bill deal that would have bolstered border security resources, but Republicans killed it under orders from Trump. The Mayor's complaints should be directed their way." By definition, it cannot be a "border security bill" if it's announcing that we're permitting 4,999 illegal crossovers a day before said Border gets closed. Factually speaking, we're just saying each week, 'First come, first served!'
