The Love Of God
"O Lord, you have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
you understand my thought afar off;
you comprehend my path and my lying down,
and are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
but behold, O Lord, you know it altogether."
Psalm 139:1-4
There is nothing hidden from God. He knows the number of hairs on your head - literally. He knows your darkest secrets. He knows more about you than you know about yourself. Yet he bids you, come. That is the love of God.
"I have loved you with an everlasting love;"
Jeremiah 31:3
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution,
or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"
Romans 8:35
vs 38:
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor principalities nor powers,
nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
God does not spare us the trials of life, because he has a purpose for them. But of one thing we can be sure, if we abide in him, nothing can separate us from his love. No matter what.
