An American HolocaustBill Johnson, school principal, lives through the worst Disaster in U.S. school history when a new football coach comes to his school. The success of the coach’s football program and his popularity with the people of Meridian, Oregon makes Bill Johnson's evaluation of the new coach, Jack Rippen, a troubling one. A favorable evaluation would surely give him tenure at his school and make it much more difficult to fire him if necessary. An unfavorable one might lead to a confrontation with the school board and a fight for his own Job. His investigation of the coach's character leads to a disaster reported around the world and changes his life and the town of Meridian forever. As he later tries to make sense of it all, he finds himself sending a message of acceptance and compassion to the rest of the world, the only answer he finds reasonable in the face of the completely irrational events which no sane person could understand or accept.https://a.co/d/0cmTw0in
