This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. 20 Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. --- Hebrews 6:19-20 NLT A curtain hung between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, “God’s inner sanctuary.” This curtain prevented anyone from entering, gazing into, or even getting a fleeting glimpse of the interior of the Most Holy Place (see also 9:1-8). The high priest could enter there only once a year to stand in God’s presence and atone for the sins of the entire nation. But Christ is in God’s presence at all times. Not just once a year, as the High Priest who can continually intercede for us. --- Life Application Study Bible notes PRAYER Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus and all that He has done for me and for all who are born from above. Thank You that He is our heavenly High Priest Whose entrance in heaven guarantees our own position in the coming kingdom of Christ. Increase my understanding of Your Word and all that it teaches, and I pray that many, both Jew and Gentile alike, would come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus and swell the numbers of those that are saved, by grace through faith in Him.
