Shake off the dust of your feet
We all want to be loved and accepted. As Christians many times we allow others to mistreat us and we keep going back trying to minister and help these people. Have you ever prayed with someone and tried to encourage them and these people blamed you for the attack they were going through?
If these people don’t have enough God to recognize and know your spirit, it may be time to release them. You can pray from a distance as well as up close. The devil is an accuser. Sometimes it is better to walk away, then to cast your pearls before swine.
I was reading Mathew this week. God spoke to me from this scripture. If you take the word of truth to a person or a city and they do not accept it, shake the dust off your feet.
Jesus told us to not even allow the dust particles to go with us from that place. Leave it where it is, all of it. Shake it from your feet and walk away….Sometimes that is the hard part. Our love or compassion will get us in trouble. You can love and pray for these people from a distance.
Mathew 10: 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
God sees your heart and he will reward your efforts. We have to do our part and let God do the rest. Sometimes, we just need to let go.
