The truth often does. People on the left and the right would rather ignore the truth in order to believe a fantacy. On the left it's generally ignoring deviency in order to believe their own fantacies are "normal". On the right it's generally hero worship, pretending someone out there is going to save them from the deviency.Both of these are the result of echo chambers and blindly accepting the narritive as truth. The solution is to build a comprehensive world view based on reality, and to be critical of every piece of new information before weaving it into that worldview. It takes time, it takes effort, it takes self reflection and humbleness to recognise when you're wrong, and to toss out those old beliefs. You have to be willing to recognise when you were wrong, why you were wrong, and accept reality as truth. You have to be more interested in what is true, and less interested in what you wish truth to be.
