You know... This really would not have to be MANDATORY or specifically military. Just sweeten the deal. Turn this into a civil service apprenticeship with subsidized room and board for two years with focus on citizens and country. What a great spring board for many young americans that have just graduated high school. It would create a new focus on patriotism and give a direction and experience to many. Also.. extend tax breaks to all companies that participate. Almost like a PEACE CORPS specifically geared in supporting Americas infrastructure, militarily, socially and structurally! I'm a Genius!

Absolutly not. The military would waste time, and money processing the duds, the slackers and whiners out. Two years is not cost effective either. You have two to three months of basic training. Then three to twelve months of MOS training depending on your occupation specialty. This would leave very... View More
