So,today's the 1st day here of rifle season for deer. Also, antlered only. So I figured it was going to be a nonstop parade of does and spikes. About 45 minutes in,I heard something, turned my head to find a beautiful 8 point buck coming towards the scent I had out. He got part of the way there,and got nervous. Started to walk away. I had a brief window, took a not great angle shot, thought I missed clean. Came down to look, no blood trail. About 15 yards away, dead. Almost had a coronary dragging back to the truck. And in a spot I had to just pick at random, because somebody was parked where I was expecting to go. Hit him in the neck. Woo Hoo!
