ULTIMATELY IT IS OUR GOD WHO IS IN CONTROL Last night studying Daniel with our group, some very timely points were made, that are truly worth repeating and sharing. First of all, Daniel and his friends while taken captive by the un-godly, submitted to the earthly authority of their un-godly king. They did so because they understood the true ruling authority and King of all mankind was their Creator, the God "I Am". Hence it was His will that they were taken captive and submitted to the leadership of an un-godly king, Nebuchadnezzar. Yet even though he was their earthly king they respectfully did not accept his lordship or his god's in the spiritual realm. They did not compromise their faith; no they stood upon the statutes, the ultimate Lordship of their Heavenly King. Therefore in submission they respectfully stood and yet continued to worship their God, bringing Him glory and ultimately influence over multiple kingdoms on earth. Because of their faith and conviction God gave them extreme favor on earth. This Godly favor is the result of faith and commitment to God that the world cannot understand or deny. Why is this so relevant today? We are as Americans being given and opportunity to voice who we desire to lead this great nation. While we will be a part of choosing our earthly king, God may choose to allow an un-godly leader or leaders. However that does not change who we are or whom we ultimately serve. We are to accept His ultimate Lordship, submit to whomever He has chosen to be our worldly king, and bring glory to our true King, or Heavenly Lord. We must be willing to allow God to use us however He chooses to be an influence upon the rest of the world, and yes it may be painful, difficult, and even frustrating at times. But as we know and have seen, God is always faithful to those who submit to His Lordship, who do not compromise, who speak and stand upon the Truth. Here our prayers oh Lord, give us strength, and while we pray for Godly leadership for our Nation, we will submit to that which You allow for Your purposes for You alone are King!
