Daily Devotional - October 9What Works And What Doesn't"But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law;for they are unprofitable and useless."Titus 3:9Think about it. When have foolish disputes ever succeeded in producing anything good? Yet we go on arguing. Why?All change comes by revelation from the Spirit of God. But argument only breeds annoyance at best, and hostility at worst. It puts distance between the hearts of those involved. But when the Holy Spirit speaks to a person's heart, it can change that person's life in an instant. Therefore, let us stop futile arguing, stop nagging, and start bringing issues to God alone. And leave them there. He is well able to show the truth to anyone who may be deceived. That should be your prayer, rather than trying to do it yourself with useless arguing, making matters even worse than they were. It's not for us to argue the negatives, but to proclaim the truth. While arguing engenders strife, proclaiming the truth can change a life. And only God himself can accomplish it."...with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." 1 Peter 34From:Along Emaus Roadhttp://alongemausrd.blogspot.com/
