Prof. Christian Perronne, wins all of his proceedings before the Disciplinary Chamber (France)The Chamber even concluded that, in view of his status as a specialist, Prof. Perronne had an obligation to express himself:"Dr. Perronne, a specialist internationally recognized as an expert in the field of infectious diseases, was in the best position to understand the public health issues at stake. If he expressed himself in the press on the government's action and on the pharmaceutical industry, as he was legitimate to do and even had the obligation to do in this field which was within his competence, he limited himself to publicly expressing, without invective, a discordant voice on a subject of general interest".Perronne is not only a Professor of Infectious and Tropical Diseases, who practised at the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin, but also an expert recognised and respected by many French, European and international health authorities. He has only been challenged with the advent of the COVID crisis.For having remained faithful to his oath as a doctor and his personal conscience, for questioning and daring to criticise the government’s health policy, Prof. Perronne was sanctioned in December 2020.
