Russia has lost half of its spies in Europe since the start of the war.
This was stated by the head of British intelligence MI6 Richard Moore.
These are the so-called diplomats expelled from NATO countries, who actually worked for the Russian special services for many years, as well as illegal spies under cover. There are about 400 people in total.
"We think it cut Russia's espionage capabilities in half."
He also hopes for spies who, because of the war, will themselves dare to "strike at the Putin system" – this was already the case during the Prague Spring of 1968.
