The European Commission suggested that the EU countries conclude an agreement with Azerbaijan on increasing natural gas imports – ReutersNow the EU countries must agree on a draft memorandum that will help them get rid of their dependence on Russian gas.“The parties are aimed at supporting bilateral trade in natural gas, including by exporting at least 20 billion cubic meters of gas to the European Union through the Southern Gas Corridor annually until 2027,” the document says.The project states that both parties will encourage funding to expand this network to increase supplies to Europe. Increasing supplies will also require Azerbaijan to increase its own gas production.
