I spoke with my publisher last week. I’ll be honest, I’m really not a fan of speaking with them because the whole conversation tends to be about paying more money to advertise my book and it gets annoying. I’m not going to pay $2,000 to an organization so they can advertise the book with zero guarantees that there would be any more sells. To date my 2nd book only sold 11 copies according to the publisher. There is many reasons why my book only sold 11 copies and the main reason is because very little people know about the book. Granted poetry isn’t for everyone and certainly isn’t the genre of choice, so there is that. My 1st book did sell over 300 copies and that is without paying for any type of advertising. Most of that was because I was on Facebook at the time and I had the ability to reach out to more groups and organizations. I’m no longer on Facebook and no longer have any connections with those organizations that are on there. So, with that, I no longer have those connections and therefore I can’t reach out like I used to. I do believe that this 2nd book is a little better than the 1st but that is my personal opinion. I feel that I put a little more into it to give more depth to the book. So I’m asking if others could help out and possibly share this post. Both of my books can be found on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Thank you, Paul Anthony Minger
