The old saying was "nothing's certain but death and taxes". Oath-breaking joe has purported that Constitutional Amendments "aren't absolute", which negates the 16th Amendment establishing taxes in my opinion. Since you're reading this, that means you're still alive. Now, it all boils down to choices. Your choices have brought you where you are. Nothing else. Nobody else. People change their life's directions daily with the first step, a choice to do so. No, we owe nobody equity, especially those who've refused to make proper choices to change the direction of their lives. Yes, it involves work and discipline, which is the main reason people won't/don't do it. To "take someone's background into consideration" for any reason is the quintessential definition of overt enabling. EVERYBODY has the freedom of choice, and can choose to realize they're the only ones in charge of their lives. Yes, I've made both good and bad choices, but I'm where I am because that's exactly where I want to be. So are you, or you'd change it. Where am I heading? I choose to be happy and jovial. I refuse to tread water in the swamps and cesspools of misery. Yes, I'm retired. No, I'm not rich, and I'm hoping inflation doesn't render my retirement worth nothing but a six-pack of coke. I live debt free in the country by choice. I laugh at most everything I can, and pick with my friends and family. Yes, I mess with squirrels and raccoons. I play with my dogs. I eliminate negativity by praying. Daily, I'm amazed at the number of people who choose to waller in the pools of negativity. No, I won't. Not my choice. The mongrels can say/do as they wish up there, I choose not to listen and won't. My choice. Death is a given, I just don't know when or how. Beyond my choice. Everything else is, and I weigh my decisions carefully. Unfortunately, most people treat their choices like New Year's resolutions, and can't/won't adhere to their choices with the discipline required to achieve their objective. That's why I put up more funny posts than most, and do my best to rise above the fray. THEY want you in their "pit of misery" where they can have company. Don't look for ME there. Not MY choice.
