Orphans hold a special place in the hearts of humanitarians. By their nature, children are vulnerable. The loss of a guardian leads to loss in opportunities, resources and much-needed support. Children who lose one or more parent often struggle with food insecurity and lack proper clothing.The need for orphan support is tremendous. The number of children living in orphanages or on the street is larger than the population of Mpigi district. Roughly 3.5 times more children become orphaned each year. At ECAFUg, we believe losing a parent should not deprive a child of food, clothing and shelter or sentence a child to a life of endless poverty. This belief drives us to support those in need more especially the orphans.
