Yeah, I know. I've known. I've talked about it briefly, but now it's time to expose it for what it is. BOOMER STYLE ! The problems in today's society lie strictly on the shoulders of technology. Not computers. Not the internet. On those who WILLINGLY allowed cell phones to control their lives. Yeah, I know, but deal with it or scroll on. The truth always hurts. Cell phones started as status symbols for the rich and famous. Then, it became the ultimate prize for narcissists. Then, it became a leash for the willing followers. Then, it became your boss's favorite instrument. You sacrificed your personal life on the throne of technology, and really can't control your own lives anymore! Think I'm lying? Tonight, before you go to bed, turn your phone off and leave it off until the morning of the day after tomorrow. See ? I win.
Our forefathers built this country without computers and cellphones. They performed daily tasks uninterrupted. They weren't distracted by anyone/anything. They controlled their own destiny. Yes, things happened when they were in the fields, but having a cellphone wouldn't have stopped them from happening. Today? People that know me try their best to ignore theirs when they're around me, but start dancing like they're on a fire ant hill when that ringtone hits. Yes, I have a tracphone fliphone, and it's always turned off. We use it when we go to town in case my wife needs us. Then, upon return, off. Yes, we have a landline, with an answering machine. IF I feel like answering it, I will. If I don't, I won't. If they leave a message, I'll call them back at MY convenience : it's MY life. No message? Telemarketer. It's simple. Who runs YOUR life?
Knowing this audience, I can only imagine the excuses y'all could come up with to explain your absence from their control ! The other thing I'll point out is that SOME of you need to divide your salary by 24 hours instead of 8 to realize what you REALLY make. Who's WHOSE tool ?
