The McCarran Warner act was passed because it recognized that although Islam has a religious component, it also contains social, economic, political, civil, legal, and political, components as well which makes it a SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT NOT A RELIGION. This put it in direct contradiction with our own system of government which was why it was originally declared to be illegal in the United States.
