Most of us read this back in high school, and think we remember all about it. I strongly recommend you search it, and at least reread the synopsis of it on Wikipedia. Yes, it's from 1945, by somebody who hated Stalinist Russia, George Orwell. Kewpie doll ! Yep, same guy that wrote 1984. This followed differently, and was easily understood as an allegory. Reading the synopsis today, it sends chills down your spine. Especially when you know you've read it but forgot it. Like so many others we read and forgot from back then that helped us form our viewpoints we carry today. Shame today's children won't read, only let others tell them what to think. Their narcissism and indoctrination can only end one way, in someone else's agenda, not theirs. We can talk until we're blue in the face, but they don't have ears to hear, only their hands out. Until they're put to work. Then, it will be too late. History proves this time and again. Oops. That reading/education thingie again. Oh well, at least WE understand. Remember the guards in Star Trek Next Generation episode "Encounter at Far Point"? The Jem'Hadar on Deep Space Nine and their "Ketracel-white"? Noticing a pattern? Now, it's fentanyl. Then, there's Narcan for do-overs. Multiple times. Free. What a fine kettle of fish we're in.
